Canticle of Mary
My soul doth magnify: + the LORD.
And my spirit hath rejoiced: in GOD my Saviour.
For He hath regarded the lowliness of his handmaid: for behold from henceforth all generations shall call me blessed.
For He that is mighty hath done great things unto me: and holy is His Name.
And His mercy is from generation to generation: unto them that fear Him.
He hath shewed strength with His arm: He hath scattered the proud in the imagination of their heart.
He hath put down the mighty from their seat: and hath exalted the humble.
He hath filled the hungry with good things: and the rich He hath sent empty away.
He hath holpen His servant Israel: being mindful of His mercy.
As He spake unto our fathers: to Abraham and his seed for ever.
(St. Luke 1:46-55)
Gloria Patri …
Who is she that cometh forth as the morning rising, fair as the moon, bright as the sun, terrible as an army set in battle array?
O Mary, conceived without sin, pray for us who have recourse to thee!
Hail Thou Star of Ocean
(Ave Maris Stella)
Hail thou Star of Ocean,
Portal of the Sky.
Ever Virgin Mother,
Of the Lord Most High.
O! By Gabriel’s ‘Ave’
Uttered long ago.
Eva’s name reversing,
Established peace below.
Break the captives’ fetters,
Light on blindness pour.
All our ills expelling,
Every bliss implore.
Show thyself a Mother,
Offer Him our sighs,
Who for us incarnate,
did not thee despise.
Still as on we journey,
Help our weak endeavour,
Till with thee and Jesus,
We rejoice forever.
Through the Highest Heaven,
To the Almighty Three:
Father, Son and Spirit,
One same glory be.
A Petition to Mary
Most holy Virgin Immaculate, my Mother Mary, to thee who art the Mother of my Lord, the Queen of the universe, the advocate, the hope, the refuge of sinners, I who am the most miserable of all sinners, have recourse this day. I venerate thee, great queen, and I thank thee for the many graces thou has bestowed upon me even unto this day; in particular for having delivered me from the hell which I have so often deserved by my sins.
I love thee, most dear Lady; and for the love I bear thee, I promise to serve thee willingly forever and to do what I can to make thee loved by others also. I place in thee all my hopes for salvation; accept me as thy servant and shelter me under thy mantle, thou who art the Mother of mercy. And since thou art so powerful with God, deliver me from all temptations, or at least obtain for me the strength to overcome them until death. From thee I implore a true love for Jesus Christ. Through thee I hope to die a holy death.
My dear Mother, by the love thou bearest to Almighty God, I pray thee to assist me always, but most of all at the last moment of my life. Forsake me not then, until thou shalt see me safe in heaven, there to bless thee and sing of thy mercies through all eternity. Such is my hope. Amen.
(St. Alphonsus Liguori)
An Act of Consecration to the Immaculate Heart of Mary
O Mary, Virgin most powerful and Mother of mercy, Queen of Heaven and Refuge of sinners, we consecrate ourselves to thine Immaculate Heart.
We consecrate to thee our very being and our whole life; all that we have, all that we love, all that we are. To thee we give our bodies, our hearts and our souls; to thee we give our homes, our families, our country. We desire that all that is in us and around us may belong to thee, and may share in the benefits of thy motherly benediction. And that this act of consecration may be truly efficacious and lasting, we renew this day at thy feet the promises of our Baptism and our first Holy Communion. We pledge ourselves to profess cour-ageously and at all times the truths of our holy Faith, and to live as befits Catholics who are duly submissive to all the directions of the Pope and the Bishops in communion with him. We pledge ourselves to keep the commandments of God and His Church, in particular to keep holy the Lord’s Day. We likewise pledge ourselves to make the consoling practices of the Christian religion, and above all, Holy Communion, an integral part of our lives, in so far as we shall be able so to do.
Finally, we promise thee, O glorious Mother of God and loving Mother of men, to devote ourselves whole-heartedly to the service of thy blessed cult, in order to hasten and assure, through the sovereignty of thine Immaculate Heart, the coming of the kingdom of the Sacred Heart of thine adorable Son, in our own hearts and in those of all men, in our country and in all the world. As in heaven, so on earth. Amen.
Queen Assumed into Heaven
O Immaculate Virgin, Mother of God and Mother of Humanity, we believe with all the fervour of our faith in thy triumphal Assumption both in body and in soul into heaven where thou art acclaimed as Queen by all the choirs of angels and all the legions of saints; we unite with them to praise and bless the Lord who has exalted thee above all other pure creatures and to offer thee the tribute of our devotion and our love.
We know that thy gaze, which on earth watched over the humble and suffering humanity of Jesus, in heaven is filled with the vision of that humanity glorified and with the vision of uncreated Wisdom, and that the joy of thy soul in the direct contemplation of the adorable Trinity causes thine heart to throb with overwhelming tenderness; and we, poor sinners whose body weights down the flight of the soul, beg thee to purify our hearts so that, whilst we remain below, we may learn to see God and God alone in the beauties of his creatures.
We trust that thy merciful eyes may deign to gaze down upon our miseries and anguish, upon our struggles and our weaknesses; that thy countenance may smile upon our joys and our victories; that thou mayest hear the voice of Jesus saying to thee of each one of us, as He once said to thee of His Beloved Disciple:
“Behold thy son,” and we who call upon thee as our Mother, we, like St. John, take thee as the guide, strength and consolation of our mortal life.
We are inspired by the certainty that thine eyes, which wept over the earth crimsoned by the Blood of Jesus, are yet turned toward this world racked by wars and persecutions, the oppression of the just and the weak. From the shadows of this vale of tears, we seek in thy heavenly assistance, tender mercy, comfort for our aching hearts, and help in the trials of Church and country.
We believe finally that in the glory wherest thou reign, clothed with the sun and crowned with stars, thou art, after Jesus, the joy and gladness of all the angels and the saints, and from this earth, over which we tread as pilgrims, comforted by our faith in the future resurrection, we look to thee our life, our sweetness, our hope; draw us onward with the sweetness of thy voice, so that one day, after our exile, thou may show us Jesus, the blessed fruit of thy womb.
O clement, O loving, O sweet Virgin Mary. Amen.
(Pope St. Pius X)
Prayer to Our Lady of Fatima
O Most Holy Virgin Mary, Queen of the most holy Rosary, thou wert pleased to appear to the children of Fatima and reveal a glorious message. O thou, by whom God wanted to be born and by whose milk the King of Heaven wanted to be nourished! Nourish our souls with effusions of Divine Grace. Amen.
Sorrowful and Immaculate Heart of Mary
Sorrowful and Immaculate Heart of Mary, dwelling pure and holy, cover my soul with thy maternal protection, so that being ever faithful to the Voice of Jesus, it responds to His Love and obeys His Divine Will.
I wish, O, my Mother, to keep unceasingly before me thy co-redemption in order to live intimately with thy Heart that is totally united to the Heart of thy Divine Son.
Fasten me to this Heart by thy own virtues and sorrows. Protect me always. Amen.

Prostrated at thy feet and humiliated by my sins, but full of confidence in thee, O Mary! I beg thee to accept the petition my heart is going to make. It is for my last moments. Dear Mother, I wish to request thy protection and maternal love so that in that decisive moment thou wilt do all thy love can suggest on my behalf.

Mary Immaculate, Star of the Morning (Hymn)
Mary Immaculate, star of the morning,
Chosen before the creation began,
Chosen to bring, for thy bridal adorning,
Woe to the serpent and rescue to man.
Here, in an orbit of shadow and sadness
Veiling thy splendour, thy course thou hast run;
Now thou art throned in all glory and gladness,
Crowned by the hand of thy Saviour and Son.
Sinners, we worship thy sinless perfection;
Fallen and weak, for thy pity we plead;
Grant us the shield of thy sovereign protection,
Measure thine aid by the depth of our need.
Frail is our nature, and strict our probation,
Watchful the foe that would lure us to wrong:
Succour our souls in the hour of temptation,
Mary Immaculate, tender and strong.
See how the wiles of the serpent assail us,
See how we waver and flinch in the fight:
Let thine immaculate merit avail us,
Make of our weakness a proof of thy might.
Bend from thy throne at the voice of our crying,
Bend to this earth which thy footsteps have trod;
Stretch out thine arms to us living and dying,
Mary Immaculate, Mother of God.
May the Virgin Mary’s Immaculate Conception be our health and our protection.
Prayer to Our Lady of Perpetual Succour
O Mother of Perpetual Succour, grant that I may always invoke thy most powerful name, for thy name is help in life, salvation in death.
Ah, Mary most pure, Mary most sweet, let thy name henceforth be the breath of my life. Tarry not, O Lady, to come to my succour, whenever I call upon thee, for in all the wants which shall befall me, I wilt never cease to call upon thee, and to repeat again and again: Mary, Mary!
What comfort, what sweetness, what confidence, what tenderness, does my soul feel in the mere mention of thy name, in the very thought of thee! I thank the Lord for having given thee, for my good, this name so sweet, so amiable, so powerful.
But merely to pronounce thy name is not enough for me. I wish to do so out of love: I wish that love may remind me to call thee always, Mother of Perpetual Succour. Amen.
Pater Noster … Ave Maria … Gloria Patri

O Mary! Thou who so much desirest to see Jesus loved, if thou lovest me, this is the favour that I now ask of thee, to obtain for me a great love for Jesus Christ. Thou obtainest from thy Son whatever thou pleasest; pray, then, for me, and console me. Obtain for me a great love for thee, who of all creatures, art the most loving and beloved of God. Amen.

Mother of God, Defend us from False Shepherds
Most tender Mother of God, bulwark against heresies, we come before thee to implore thy protection against the heresy of Modernism, which has permeated into the Church as a fifth column. Keep us standing fast in the true Catholic faith, may we never be lured by the maxims of the world, that seek to blend with the perennial Truth to contaminate it and lead us into error.
Do not allow these enemies, we see infiltrated into the heart of the Church, to lead us away from the Revelation made by God. Help us to be determined to lose our lives before abandoning our Catholic faith. We know and believe that the Revealed Doctrine is immutable and unchangeable. Most holy Virgin Mary, grant that we may always be eager for the glory of God, and give us a great zeal and love for the Church founded by thine divine Son, so that we may defend her as thine soldiers from her internal enemies, who with a complete lack of humility, attack the holiest of all the work of Christ, putting their designs for her ruin into operation not from without but from within; so that there is no part of Catholic truth from which they hold their hand, none that they do not strive to corrupt under the pretext of renovation.
Most holy Virgin Mary, save our nations, preserve our faith and defend us from false shepherds! Amen.
