Prayer to St. Luke

Feast Day 18th OCTOBER

– Patron Saint of artists, physicians, bachelors, surgeons, students and butchers –

Almighty God, Who didst inspire Thy servant St. Luke the physician to set forth in the Gospel the love and healing power of Thy Son: Graciously continue in Thy Church the love and power to heal, to the praise and glory of Thy Name; through the same Thy Son Jesus Christ our Lord, who liveth and reigneth with Thee, in the unity of the Holy Ghost, one God, now and for ever. Amen.

Prayer for Intercession of St. Luke for those Undergoing Surgery

Most charming and saintly physician, thou wert animated by the heavenly Spirit of Love. In faithfully detailing of the humanity of Jesus, thou also showed His Divinity and His genuine compassion for all human beings. Inspire our physicians with thine professionalism and with the divine compassion for their patients. Enable them to cure the ills of both body and spirit that afflict so many in our day. Amen.

      Our prayers are with her.

Be sure to pray to St. Raphael, the ‘Medicine of God’ and also St. Joseph, hope of the sick. Maybe do a novena of the Litany of St. Joseph.

And also ask the most Holy Infant Jesus for help!

You’ll find prayers and litanies to both on this site.
